Bullying & Harassment Policy

Makeup United Artists Ltd. (MU-A ltd) will not tolerate any form of discrimination, bullying or harassment. This applies to all individuals that work with us or engage in our services, including - but not limited to - our staff, guests, learners and represented artists. 

This policy outlines the steps we take to prevent and stop discrimination, bullying and harassment.

Examples of discrimination, bullying or harassing can include:

  • Unfair treatment

  • Consistently undermining an individual/s

  • Offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting behaviour

  • Abuse or misuse of power that undermines; humiliates or causes physical/emotional harm

Harassment is against the law. We have listed bellow the 'protected characteristics’ under the discrimination law (Equality Act 2010), in which harassment is in relation to:

  • Age

  • Gender

  • Sex

  • Sexual Orientation

  • Race & Ethnicity

  • Disability

  • Pregnancy & Maternity

  • Religion or Belief

  • Marriage and civil partnership

In addition, any unwanted conduct of a sexual nature (sexual harassment) will not be tolerated, and steps will be taken to deal with such issues immediately.


PREVENTION

At MUA we strive to maintain our open and welcoming environment for individuals of all diversities. We understand the important of accessibility, value inclusivity and learning from others. Equality is vital to our community, work, and and industry. 

We understand that we have a duty of care to look after the wellbeing of our staff, guests, learners and represented artists. Therefore we will:

  • Provide a safe and fair workplace

  • Encourage any individuals receiving unwanted behaviour confidence to raise an issue

  • Support said individuals and resolve issues by taking immediate action


PROCEDURE

We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying and harassment on any grounds. We ensure that any reports of said unwanted behaviour will be investigated and resolved quickly and efficiently. 

The following outlines our procedure regarding this issue:

 

REPORT

If an individual has experienced any form of discrimination, bullying and harassment, such as (but not limited to) unwanted physical/verbal contact, intrusive questioning, unwelcome written or visual communications, non-verbal misconduct, deliberate exclusion, or other forms of oppressive or intimidatory behaviour to a fellow MU-A staff member. 

People can also report incidents via email to a senior staff member at support@mu-a.co.uk

In your report please include:

  • your name and contact details if you would like a follow-up regarding your report. If you wish to remain anonymous you can, but we do kindly ask that you disclose your name so we can help resolve the situation quickly and ensure complete satisfaction.

  • the date/time and who this involves in relation to this event/s.

  • details of said incident/s, including what form of mistreatment you have experienced (bullying, discrimination, harassment or victimisation).


RESOLVE 

We aim to respond to and resolve any issues within 15 working days. All communication will be given a reference number and recorded in our internal complaints log. All personal details provided will only be used in correlation with your complaint. 

However, depending upon the severity of the issue we ensure to reach a resolution as quickly as possible.
